Company’s Latest Proposal Invests in YOU

On May 12, the Company and UFCW Local 3000 reconvened to continue bargaining new contracts for our Seattle and surrounding area associates.

When they met this week, both parties exchanged updated economic proposals. Our Comprehensive Proposal aims to invest in YOU with increased funding for wages and benefits.

Wage Investment

  • Journeyperson wage increases: Our latest Comprehensive Wage Proposal boosts the previous wage proposal to an 11.39% hourly wage increase over the life of the three-year agreement, starting with a 4.14% hourly wage increase in the first year.
    • $1/hr increase after ratification
    • $0.75/hr in Year 2
    • $1/hr in Year 3

  • Pharmacy-related premiums:
    • $1/hr for RX Techs administering vaccines
    • $2/hr for RX Leads

    Pension Investment

    • Pension benefits offer peace of mind for retirement, something most non-union competitors don’t provide. Our proposal strengthens the Sound VAP.

    Health & Welfare Investment

    • Your health benefits are a key part of your Total Compensation. The Company covers up to 96% of the cost— making yours among the lowest employee contributions in Washington.
    • Our latest proposal tackles funding gaps by setting new employee and employer rates and promoting preventive care, member education, and smart incentives—keeping your coverage affordable.
