Company and Union Resume Bargaining Session for Puget Sound Area Contracts

The Company and Union bargaining committees met at the negotiation table March 5 and 6 to discuss new contracts for the Fred Meyer Puget Sound area grocery and meat associates, focusing on reaching a fair and balanced agreement.

The Latest

The bargaining committees picked up again from last month’s discussion, with the Union and Company sharing language proposals on non-economic items. While negotiations take time and it is a process, both the Company and the Union diligently reviewed the proposals and engaged in productive dialogue, asked questions and exchanged information.

Tentative Agreements

Both committees reached tentative agreements on non-economic language items.

Steps toward Agreement

Engaging in a productive dialogue, focused on important non-economic topics, is a crucial first step in the negotiations process. Seeking areas of agreement and working through issues when both parties disagree is fundamental to bargaining in good faith. Participating in earnest and honest discussions is the surest path to an agreement that is good for everyone.

Next Steps

The bargaining committees are scheduled to resume these contract talks on March 26-28, 2025.
