Bargaining Continues for Tacoma Area Associates

The Fred Meyer and UFCW Local 367 bargaining committees resumed negotiations for a second day, working towards new contracts for our associates in Tacoma and the surrounding areas.

Negotiations Take Time

Today, the Union and Company bargaining committees met, received the Union’s Meat Proposal, and discussed questions related to scheduling and operations. It’s still early in the process—we’re just at the beginning of negotiations, and these conversations take time. Bargaining involves open and honest dialogue as both sides work through questions and explore ideas. Sometimes, committee members may not have all the answers right away and need time to research and provide accurate information.

What’s New

The bargaining committees are scheduled to meet Thursday, May 1, and Friday, May 2.

Why it Matters

We know these contract discussions are important to you. They are important to the company, too. The resulting contract will guide your wages and benefits and our operations for the next several years.

Next Steps

Throughout the process, we will provide open and transparent updates for your store leader to share in huddles. Updates will also be posted on FredMeyerSeattleCBA.com and on store bulletin boards.

If you have questions, please ask your store leader or another member of management. If they don’t have the answer, they will follow up and get back to you as soon as possible. You may also email your questions to [email protected].

Thank you for all you do to take care of your customers and each other.
